COMBS RESIDENCE The Combs residence was
designed as a single residence for a former corporate executive.
Located in a very exclusive part of town, this large house boasts
7,5000 square feet with three levels of masonry. The residence was
completed in approximately 14 months under a design/bid contract
with 100% of the work self-performed. Its design focus was on the
foundation work, stone veneer, brick jack archers, flagstone patio,
and the fireplace. Stone was used on all exterior portions of the
house and three-car garage. the tall stone chimneys with ornate
flues accent the house. the rear of the house has very elaborate
stairs with accenting planters. Included in this project was a green
house with a brick floor. Our expert craftsmen were hand picked
instead of the lowest price to accomplish the owners desire for a
quality job.

PRECAST/MASONRY CORPORATE OFFICE A special design team
designed the Weaver Precast/Masonry Corporate Office Facility. The
masonry contractors desire to focus on the design of the exterior
masonry and the interior glass block. The project was completed in
approvimately 6 1/2 months under design/bid contract with 100% of
the work self-performed. The 14,000 square feet two0story corporate
office facility has a lower level receptionist counter with a radius
stonewall. The conference room uses the Weaver Precast Superior
Walls for its walls. The interior lobby has a glass block entrance.
The exterior bricks ground face with colored precast bands is color
coordinated. The corporate office facility is designed and built
with the "construction" theme. The varied materials and combination
of different wall planes made it a challenge to build so all precast
and opening aligned. the success of the project was in large part
due to our expert craftsmen.

D &
E COMMUNICATIONS BUILDING A uniquely designed
corporate office for Denver and Ephrata Telephone and Communications
Company was constructed in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. the
building also serves as a corporate center for an Internet service
and other hi-tech communications systems. The building has three
floors occupied space. the total footage is 81,000 square feet
priced at 8.4 million. The building is only one of several buildings
owned by this fast growing company. Design of
Project As a prominent and growing company in the area,
D & E Communication wanted this building to represent their
desire for exellence. The focal point of the buildings design is the
exterior facade. It is a steel bearing structure with steel stud
exterior walls. it is a brick veneered building with the exterior
veneer including varied materials and planes of
wall. Details That Create Identity Two colors
of brick were creatively used to accent the long windows. A heavy
precast molded and rolled band created a step-back affect. The front
and rear entrances were certainly designed to catch the eye. The
precast columns with haning brick walls and arches are not ordinary
construction, thus defining this project. Performance of
Work The fast growth of the company dictated a short
schedule. Our part of the construction had to be executed within
five weeks. Laying the brick before the window frames were installed
required openings to be exact. The existing building, within 20 feet
of the new building, was still occupied and needed to stay intact
until the new building was completed. All this increased the
difficulty of the project and required much skill ABC
Affiliate Approximately 100% of the trades working on
this project were open shop contractors with 90% being members of
ABC. It was very gratifying being part of this successful project
done on time and to the owners pride and pleasure.
